The Princicples of Scarcity and Immutability
Bitcoin is a protocol that converts time and energy into the cryptographic security of an immutable ledger.
So what is its purpose?
Bitcoin asks a simple but profound question: "If the universe is governed by finite resources and immutable laws, can humanity create a form of money governed by those same principles?"
The universe is defined by scarcity:
- Time cannot be manufactured
- Energy cannot be created from nothing
- Entropy ensures that useful work is finite.
If money exists to account for the economic output produced under these constraints, then the most honest form of money would embody those same principles of scarcity and immutability.
Bitcoin is humanity's first serious attempt to create such a monetary ledger - not by trusting institutions, but by encoding those constraints into mathematics, cryptography, and decentralized consensus
